Are your WordPress plugins safe? – Mental Fruition
In doing some research on connecting WordPress to SMS gateways for some mobile action, I found what is either a careless remnant of testing or a malicious attempt to steal data from people using a WordPress plugin. Actually, make that carelessly malicious.
Interested in how the Pushit plugin for WordPress was working behind the scenes, I stumbled upon quite a shocker:
Rumor: AOL May Be Buying Mashable | WebProNews
In mid-2009, all-things-social-media blog Mashable surpassed TechCrunch as the top tech blog in terms of traffic. Now, Mashable is rumored to be on its way to becoming an AOL property.
In late 2009, AOL revealed its new strategy away from Time Warner. That strategy is content, content, content, and that is something there is no shortage of from Mashable.
Gawker’s Valleywag appears to be the source of the rumor after hearing from “a source at the Internet conglomerate” that AOL was interested in buying Mashable. Mashable owner Pete Cashmore has since told the publication:
“We don’t comment on speculation, but we do hold our writers in high regard and pay a competitive salary for their tireless efforts.”

5 of My Core Business Philosophies and Values :: Cory Miller | Adventures in Entrepreneurship
As part of our WebDesign.com Strategic Plan for 2010, I shared these underlying values that define and guide me as leader of our team. These are ingrained into my personal DNA and what I want instilled in our team.
I detailed these so that our team would understand why and how I lead our business in certain directions so they can get on board with me. Of course they aren’t all my personal or business values but the big ones that should help them (and maybe you) better understand the Strategic Plan, which I’ll share some of that in the coming days.
By the way, I don’t take credit for every concept detailed here by any means. I’m a product of every blog post, book, and personal experience with others. If I took time to chase every dog-eared book and memory, you’d never get this post.
So here goes …. my core business philosophies and defining values ….
