DoFollow CommentLuv Blog! WordPress DoFollow CommentLuv!
ByDo You Follow? Do You CommentLuv Blog?
I was reading a great post today about the CommentLuv and DoFollow plugins for WordPress. I agree that leaving comments on blogs running these plugins is a great way to make the best use of blogging time that brings back a return as well. Why leave comments on blogs that will not bring any traffic, or increase link juice?
“Do Or No Follow Doesn’t Matter”
For me it does. One of the biggest challenges for me as a full time blogger is using my time wisely. It is so easy to get distracted- I often find myself drifting in cyber space.
Where I choose to leave comments is important. I don’t leave comments just for back links, I like sharing and communicating within the blog community-BUT- I try to stay with things that bring a return as well. CommentLuv and DoFollow are my friends!
Peace to all over the Christmas holiday.
What say you? Be sure to leave a comment!
I choose the communities and blogs that I read and participate at for their quality content, good atmosphere, and for the return in traffic and link juice as well. Some blogs I only read and never comment at, others I do both.
What makes the difference for me? Whether or not I get any traffic or juice out of the exchange.
For example:
I would read and make comments at the well known political portal blog TownHall.com for years. Today however I only read the articles. Why? No more link back at TownHall. That means that I can’t afford to invest further time there. I don’t think that I’m alone in this judging by the popularity of the above mentioned plugins. (And the drastic drop in comments at TownHall)
… and there are exceptions such as Facebook, where I spend too much time posting!
Sure, it’s not cool leaving comments just for link juice, and trolling is never a good idea. With so many blogs running CommentLuv and DoFollow, you can have the best of both worlds: Interaction with a community, and link juice for your own blog!

Nice post I tend to drift as well when I'm on the internet or spend too much too on facebook.
I'm using disqus on my site but there isn't a commentluv integration for disqus yet. I decided I liked the features and social additions of Disqus better than commentluv

I think that Comment Luv and having a Do Follow plugin are great to encourage people to comment on your blog, but you do have to weed out the spam! It can also help genuine people discover your blog.

Hi Chuck.
There is this one particular blogger, I guess he is on the top of the A-list heap, I won't say his name, but I'll give you hint – he's bald. I don't read his blog because I never get much value out of it. Most of what he says I don't agree with, so of course I want to leave some profound comments. But he doesn't allow them….boy does that suck. So I don't go near his blog anymore. Btw, what ever happens to "brands in public" anyway? (thanks for letting me get that off my chest).
Hey I just noticed I'm near the top of the commentators list on your blor! How cool is that?!

I have tried to be open with comments, and believe me, on my political blogs I get some nasty stuff. For the most part I approve them. If you are going to throw something out into cyber space, be prepared to stand by what you said. That includes admitting when you have made a mistake!
Hiding behind "closed" comments is just chicken!
Top Commenter is another great plugin. I have it set to "all time" so peoples links will stick around!
What do you think of the IntenseDebate comments? I'm doing a podcast soon on the six comment plugins that I run. peace, and come again!

Thanks for the information, I've updated my Top Commentators to "List All" per your recommendation. I did not give DoFollow and CommentLuv much thought simply because I didn't understand them – Thanks for showing me how it works!

For me dofollow or nofollow doesn't matter. I'll comment if I want to, regardless of the juice or no juice. I usually comment because I want to express something as a response to what I've read. If the post stimulates my thought, I'll comment for sure

Yeah, trawling the web for dofollow sites is pretty low (I found your site by searching for "dofollow comment luv sites
). Then again, how many sites truly build up a huge backlink volume purely on the basis of it presenting good content – not many.
Once in a while I have come across some cracking sites that really are worth reading i.e this one. Your local business web ranking strategy is very good. There are a couple of sites in the presentation that I haven't heard of that will give me a few more invaluable sources of backlinks.

I really don't understand bloggers that seek out do-follow comments and comment luv but refuse to make their own blogs do-follow…..doesn't make much sense to me, it like being a "link juice hog".

Something I have learned over the last few weeks of "do-follow" blogs and changing my sites to do-follow (do-follow is a slang term for removal of rel=no-follow) is that there is a "real" community of bloggers in this movement. They actually click over to your site after leaving a comment. You don't find that on many no-follow blogs (Isaac is an exception from GoBlogger).
So, to me, it isn't so much of whether or not I get links back, that is the bonus, I get referrals and comments which creates interaction on my site. I question the actual value of any links in comments (do or no-follow) and look at is as building community and networking more than getting backlinks.

I have only just discovered this plug in and its swaying me to wordpress and away from blogger thats for sure. It seems to provide a real community and thats something that other blog systems dont provide.
So does the do-follow give more link juice? Is there anything like this available on blogger or should I just go ahead and make that change?
Thanks for the info.

If you send me a message in my inbox, I can ask a friend of mine who uses Blogger and just hooked up some sort of comment thingy. I can ask her and let you know.

It’s great to see another Do Follow blogger taking advantage of the CommentLuv plugin, it really does make a big difference and help spread the love. If your community is kept clean the benefits will be big, thank you for taking the time to read my post about Do Follow plugins and Commentluv, and of course thank you for taking the time to link me up.

Commentluv says there is an error in my feed. my feed is working but it’s obviously too untidy for commentluv to pick up my latest post on my blog when I’m commenting on other blogs.

Great blog post on the CommentLuv plug-in and why it can be a great addition for blogs. Link building is definitely a huge part of building up your blog online, and I’m personally of the opinion that Google tends to show a little bit more favor to blogs that have comments and conversations going on. Thanks for this list.

It’s good to have a do follow blog since there are those who prefer to be more active on blogs that are do follow. Still, a link is a link and comment luv is doing a great job in motivating your readers to post comment.

There is now a “movement” (for want of a better word!) to remove the “no follow” tag from the comments to encourage others to leave comments on your blog. In wordpress, the “no follow” tag can be be turned off by the installation of a “no follow” plugin.
By advertising your blog as a “DO follow” blog, you are encouraging others to comment, it’s that simple
